1. BIRDELL ARDIS⁴ OACHS (WILLIAM³, PETER CHARLES² OCHS, PETER¹) was born 08 Aug 1921 in Mankato, Blue Earth, Minnesota, and died 08 Apr 2006 in Mankato, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She married KENNETH L. LOE 17 Apr 1936 in Mankato, Blue Earth, Minnesota. He was born 07 Feb 1918, and died 05 Aug 1985.

Biography

Birdell Ardis Oachs was born in Sterling Township, Minnesota.  She was the  ninth child of sixteen children born to William and Minnie (Ward) Oachs. She married Kenneth “Bud” Loe on April 17, 1936.

Birdell was a member of the Kato Kids Band.  She played the Hawaiin Guitar. Bud and Birdell Loe owned and operated a roadside fruit and vegetable market near New Ulm, Minnesota.They also owned and operated Loe’s Truck Stop.  Bud went into the business of hauling oil.  The company is now known as Loe’s Oil Company in New Ulm, Minnesota.  It is owned and operated by their son.

Bud and Birdell had three children. One son, Ronald died in a car accident on November 16, 1981.  He had been employed by the Mankato Citizen’s Telephone Company for 24 years.  He was a construction supervisor.  He is buried at Kern’s Oak Grove Cemetery in Belgrade, Minnesota.

Bud Loe died on August 5, 1985 of cancer. Birdell died on April 8, 2006.
