DaWayne Harold Oachs was born in Sterling Township, Minnesota.  He was the thirteenth child of sixteen children born to William and Minnie (Ward) Oachs.

DaWayne Harold Oachs died of complications from whooping cough. He was the thirteenth child born to William and Minnie Oachs. He died at age thirteen months, his obituary was published on Friday, April 13th and he suffered thirteen convulsions the night he died according to written family records by Florence Oachs Standfest. He is buried in the Sterling Cemetery.
