Pahl, 82 AMBOY - Services for Lewis R. Pahl, age 82 of rural Amboy, were Tuesday, Nov. 21 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. Burial was in the Vernon Center Cemetery. Mr. Pahl died Saturday, Nov. 18 at his home in rural Amboy. Lewis was born February 28, 1918 at Glen Ullin, North Dakota, the son of Richard and Rose (Pick) Pahl. He attended school at Willow Creek. On Oct. 7, 1939 he married Arlene Oachs at Algona, Iowa. He farmed in the Amboy-Vernon Center area all of his life. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. Survivors include: his wife Arlene of Amboy; four sons: Eugene, Tim, and Scott, all of Amboy, and Lonnie of Vernon Center; three daughters: Tammy Gathman and her husband Jim of Rochester, Cindy Skjervold and her husband Jeff of Vernon Center, and Kay Pahl of California; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers: Richard Pahl and wife Joan of Mankato, Oscar Becker and his wife Reca of Truman; one sister, Irene Cornish and her husband Wes of Vernon Center; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, and four sisters.)
