He was born 22 Nov 1910, and died 19 Aug 1962 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She married (2) ARTHUR STANDFEST 06 Nov 1963. He was born 13 Jun 1908, and died 01 Sep 1971.

Biography

Florence Verona Oachs was born in Sterling Township, Minnesota. She was the sixth child of sixteen children born to William and Minnie (Ward) Oachs. She married Arthur Schaible on January 27, 1936.

Florence began playing the accordion for the Kato Kids Band. This band brought the family through the great depression.

Arthur milked cows and had a milk route. Florence worked in a supermarket for three years and in the aircraft industry for three years.  She began working at the Dairy Queen on Front Street in Mankato in 1952. She decided to buy the franchise in 1954. The franchise gave her the rights to every Dairy Queen in Blue Earth County and part of Nicollet County.  At one time, she had five Dairy Queens in operation.

Arthur and Florence Schaible had two children. Arthur Ivan died on December 2, 1996.

Arthur Schaible died on August 19, 1962.  Florence married Arthur Standfest on November 6, 1963. He died on September 1, 1971.  Florence is now retired and enjoying her life.  See newspaper article on retirement.
