22. PETER CHARLES OACHS (PETER¹) was born 12 Aug 1848 in Rynes, Prisium, Germany, and died 11 Aug 1914 in Mapleton, Minnesota (Buried in Union Cemetery.)  He married ELIZABETH STOPPELMANN 1872, daughter of JOHANN STOPPELMANN and MARIA KOLZOW. 3. AUGUST² OCHS (PETER¹) was born 1855 in Prussia, and died 26 Nov 1946 in Fairmount, Minnesota. He married (1) PAULINE HEINRICH 19 Dec 1882 in Mankato, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She was born 1856 in Prussia, and died before 1900. (Pauline died of tuberculosis.) He married (2) BERTHA SCHRAMM RETTKE 23 Jan 1901 in Rutland, Minnesota. She died 28 Feb 1941 in Martin County, Minnesota. 5. ELIZABETH² OACHS (PETER¹ OCHS) was born 29 Dec 1861 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and died 09 Sep 1935 in New Ulm, Minnesota. She married ROYAL D. LILLIE (Royal was taken in by the Lillie family when we was three years old. He was found abandoned and all alone with no sign of his parents. It is believed that his parents were killed in an Indian battle. No one knows who his parents were so he took the Lillie name as his own.) 12 Apr 1880. MARY AMELIA "MOLLIE"² OACHS (PETER¹ OCHS) was born Dec 1862 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and died 08 Apr 1921 in St. Peter, Minnesota (According to the 1910 Census Records, Amelia had 9 children and 5 are surviving. In the 1900 census records, it indicates that Amelia had 8 children with only 4 surviving. Obituary: Death of Mrs. Richard Miller-----Mrs. Richard Miller of 717 North Seventh treet died at St. Peter Friday of complications. The remains were brought to the family home, from which place the funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 and from Immanuel Lutheran church at two o'clock, Rev. A. F. Winter conducting the services. Mrs. Miller was born in Sheboygan, Wis., December 22,1863. She is survived by four sons, and one daughter, Arthur Miller of Newport, Minn., Alvin, Richard, Walter and Mrs. Ruth Miller-Graif of Mankato. Those who will act as pallbearers are: Fred Schulz,Charles Zobel, John Weig, Carl Dethloff, Herman Botke, and Joseph Krueger. The remains will be laid to rest in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.) She married RICHARD MILLER 21 May 1881 in Mankato, Blue Earth, Minnesota. He was born Mar 1860 in Berlin, Germany, and died (Richard immigrated from Berlin, Germany in 1862.) HENRY² OHS (PETER¹ OCHS) was born 29 Dec 1863 in Lake Crystal, Blue Earth, MN, and died 06 Aug 1946 in Sutton, Clay, Nebraska (Newspaper Obituary for Henry Ohs in the Clay County Sun, Thursday August ,1946. Henry Ohs found living with the Henery Vought family in Blue Earth County, Minnesota in the 1880 census. He was eleven years old at the time. Itlisted Henry as adopted. The 1900 census has Henry Ohs married with two daughters. He was a farmer and was renting his land. It stated on the census that he could not read or write. Henry was living in Thayer county,Nebraska in Davenport at the time of the census.The 1910 census (1910 Census pg. 2) finds Henry Ohs and his family living in the Marshall Precinct area of Clay County, Nebraska. He now had eight children consisting of seven daughters and one son. The census stated that Henry owned the land that he was farming but that it was mortgaged.The 1920 census still finds Henry and his family living in the Marshall Precinct of Clay County, Nebraska. The family consisted of one son and eight daughters at this time.In 1887 Henry Ochs bought land in Saline County, Nebraska from AbrahamLeonard and his wife, Catherine for $1800. The legal description of this land was N1/2 NW 1/4 Sec. 12 T7N R2E and consisted of 80 acres according to a government survey. Henry Vogt was a witness to this purchase along with John C. Thurston. It was recorded 19 March 1887 by the county clerk, Edward Beck in Book 29 on page 397. On 2 January 1892 Henry sold this land to William Vossler, Sr. for $1700. It was subject to a $500 mortgage to Miranda Smith and a $600 mortgage ro Abraham Leonard. This was recorded in Book 38 on page124.On October 14, 1895 Henry Ochs and Emma Schroeder applied for their marriage license. They were married on 16 October 1895. Henry was age 32 and Emma was age 23. The witnesses for the wedding were Wilhelm and Mary Janert both of Jefferson County, Nebraska. The wedding wasperformed by E. C. Marks.) He married EMMA ELIZABETH SCHROEDER 16 Oct 1895 in Gladstone, Jefferson, Nevada. She was born 05 Jan 1872 in Gladstone, Jefferson, Nebraska, and died 24 May 1942 in Sutton, Clay, Nebraska.
