He then married Anna's sister, Clara. She later marriee Ferdinand Else.  Anna married Mike Rose again after the death of her sister, Clara.); m. 39.  EFFIE PEARL¹⁵ STRATTON (MARY ELIZABETH¹⁴ WARD, HORACE PARKER¹³, NATHANIEL DRAPER¹², WILLIAM¹¹, THADDEUS¹⁰, CALEB⁹, WILLIAM⁸, JOHN⁷, WILLIAM⁶ WARDE, JOHANNES EDWARD⁵, THOMAS⁴, JOHANNES³, JOHANNES², THOMAS¹) (Effie's father, Wilbur Stratton, did not have enough money to pay the 22 year old hired man, Herman Augst, so he offered his oldest daughter, Ida for a bride.  Herman stated he was in love with Effie who was fourteen years old at the time.  Herman and Effie were married and at age 17, she gave birth to their first child who died. Leon and Minnie were born after the death of the first child.  They moved to Staples and lived in a cabin near a lake in the woods.  Rose was born there when Effie was 24 years old.  Effie died of typhoid fever from drinking stale water six weeks after Rose was born.  Effie gave her baby to her 14 yr old sister, Charlotte Maud, before she died. Leon and Minnie were brought up by Grandma Augst. Herman married again and had a family of four. He then took Leon and Minnie to his home. Rose was 18 years old when she met her siblings, Leon and Minnie, for the first time.) was born 30 Jan 1881, and died 07 Oct 1909 (Effie became ill and asked her sister, Charlotte Maud, to take care of Baby Rose. Leon and Minnie lived with their grandparents until Herman remarried.  The family was reunited when Rose was about 18 years old.)  She married HERMAN ERNST AUGST 11 Nov 1895.  He was born 13 Jan 1874, and died 08 Sep 1935.

                i.   LEON¹⁶ AUGST, b. 06 Dec 1899; d. 18 Feb 1981, Frost, Faribault, Minnesota; m. IDA MORTZ, 21 Nov 1926.

               ii.   MINNIE AUGST, b. 12 Apr 1902; d. 20 Dec 2005, Truman, Fairmount, Minnesota (TRUMAN -- Funeral services for Minnie Senne, 103, of Truman, MN will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Truman with the Rev. Nathan Rusert officiating. Burial will follow the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Galena Township, Martin County, MN. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Zaharia Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Truman and one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Senne died Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Truman, MN.); m. (1) HENRY MILLER; m. (2) ALBERT SENNE; d. 1954.

               iii.   ROSE PEARL AUGST, b. 03 Sep 1904; d. 22 May 1999, Clay County, Minnesota; m. (1) CHESTER SANFORD; m. (2) ROY A. COLEMAN.

40.  MARTHA ELIZABETH¹⁵ STRATTON (MARY ELIZABETH¹⁴ WARD, HORACE PARKER¹³, NATHANIEL DRAPER¹², WILLIAM¹¹, THADDEUS¹⁰, CALEB⁹, WILLIAM⁸, JOHN⁷, WILLIAM⁶ WARDE, JOHANNES EDWARD⁵, THOMAS⁴, JOHANNES³, JOHANNES², THOMAS¹) was born 11 Sep 1883, and died 12 Feb 1942.  She married NELS PETER ANDERSON 02 Jul 1900 in Blue Earth County, Minnesota.  He died 06 Feb 1942 (Buried in Verndale, Minnesota.  Nels and Martha died of injuries from a car accident.)

41.  CHARLOTTE MAUD¹⁵ STRATTON (MARY ELIZABETH¹⁴ WARD, HORACE PARKER¹³, NATHANIEL DRAPER¹², WILLIAM¹¹, THADDEUS¹⁰, CALEB⁹, WILLIAM⁸, JOHN⁷, WILLIAM⁶ WARDE, JOHANNES EDWARD⁵, THOMAS⁴, JOHANNES³, JOHANNES², THOMAS¹) was born 16 Nov 1888 in Rapidan, Minnesota, and died 27 Feb 1950 (Charlotte raised her sister's daughter, Rose.  She married Martin who had been married before and had one daughter. After marrying Charlotte, they drifted from town to town. They picked cotton in the south and did various jobs in the north. The family was expected to work. He did not believe that children needed to go to school. He was a hard taskmaster. Written by Mavis Bartsch Anderson.) She married MARTIN HENRY JAY 16 Jun 1903 in Princeton, Minnesota.  He was born in Boone, Iowa, and died 12 Apr 1952 (Martin and Charlotte are buried at Moorhead, Minnesota.Martin died of skin cancer. Charlotte died of cancer.)

42.  FRANK JAMES¹⁵ STRATTON (MARY ELIZABETH¹⁴ WARD, HORACE PARKER¹³, NATHANIEL DRAPER¹², WILLIAM¹¹, THADDEUS¹⁰, CALEB⁹, WILLIAM⁸, JOHN⁷, WILLIAM⁶ WARDE, JOHANNES EDWARD⁵, THOMAS⁴, JOHANNES³, JOHANNES², THOMAS¹) was born 16 Jan 1891 in Rapidan, Minnesota, and died Oct 1946 in Everett, Washington.  He married MABEL ELLA HINES 15 Dec 1915.  She was born 01 Oct 1898, and died 29 Oct 1994 in Everett, Snohomish, Washington.

43.  ROSE MARY¹⁵ STRATTON (MARY ELIZABETH¹⁴ WARD, HORACE PARKER¹³, NATHANIEL DRAPER¹², WILLIAM¹¹, THADDEUS¹⁰, CALEB⁹, WILLIAM⁸, JOHN⁷, WILLIAM⁶ WARDE, JOHANNES EDWARD⁵, THOMAS⁴, JOHANNES³, JOHANNES², THOMAS¹) was born 13 Jan 1894, and died 13 Dec 1969 in Portland, Oregon.  She married JOHN PITCHFORD 25 Mar 1913 in Berlin, North Dakota.  He was born 02 Oct 1891, and died 03 Mar 1966 in Portland, Oregon (John and Rose Mary are buried in Beltcrest Cemetery in Salem, Oregon)
